The days of formal boring engagement or couples photos are over. Instead let's actually document who you are and what you love to do together.

We started out the session down at the local boat dock in Charlestown, Nh. I grew up in the town so I knew it well. The beautiful May light was coming through the trees, creating a shimmery golden glow through my lens. Pj spun Jaeda around and around, her hair flying. Their laughter was heard probably by all the fishermen down on the river. Next, they sat on one of the picnic tables, writing love letters to each other. Not something you would normally do on a day to day basis, but something that is meaningful and connecting. Why not start your session off with reading how much your partner loves and adores you? Sounds like a good idea to me! And who knows maybe it will become a monthly or weekly occurrence.

the sun illuminated their love...

We then found a little dirt road off the main road that leads to the boat launch. The thing that I LOVE about dirt roads is that for the most part, they are empty. There might be the occasional truck that drives by, but you probably will have a pretty secluded spot for doing whatever you want for the photo.

They ran and laughed, and laughed some more. He held her by the waist and they swayed to the sounds of crickets and birds. The best kind of music on a early summer night.

They stood, their backs to the sun, as PJ kissed Jaeda.

my favorite photo from their session...

As soon as I saw the field with its tall grass I knew I needed to stick my couple in there. If you have ever worked with me or know me at all, you would know that I have a tendency to ask people to climb through tall, tick infested grass for the photo. And what a photo this was.

I was squealing with excitement as I looked at them through my lens. Despite the swarm of bugs around their heads, this was the most perfect photo

The way he looks at her. ugh just so stinking cute.

NOW! IT'S TIME FOR ICE CREAM!

We went to the local pizza place that also happened to serve soft serve ice cream.

She got sprinkles, he didn't.

Their ice cream was melting fast. So we had to make this quick. They walked around the little town of Charlestown, licking their cones and chatting. We found a cute little bench in front of Silsby Free Library and they sat there awhile.

If you are looking for couples or engagement photos in the New England area. Just remember, you don't need to go anywhere crazy. Just find your cozy small town, and get ice cream together!
